As you may have noticed in previous posts, we are a family of puzzlers - jigsaw type. Here are the two we finished most recently.

There are more puzzles in the queue - a fact which inspired Erick to make a special table top for jigsaw puzzles with drawers for sorting and storing the pieces.

Yesterday we transferred an almost finished puzzle (a bit larger than the standard 27" size that the table was designed for) to the new jigsaw puzzle table top.

The puzzle we are finishing is a detail of a fresco that the Mexican muralist
Diego Rivera created in 1933. It represents the production and
manufacture of engine and transmission and is part of the
Detroit Industry series painted on the walls of the Detroit Institute of Arts.
It's also special because it's a "traveling puzzle" passed along
to us by my cousin Gail who now lives in Florida. |
