A Day in Seabrook, Texas

The temperature warmed up to the low 60s F.  So, we decided to get out and find a place where we could do some walking.  On the way to Armand Bayou Nature Center, we spotted pansies in bloom - quite a difference from what we left back in Michigan.

When Erick and I got to the nature center, we were impressed with the facility.  We had our choice of three trails and picked the 1.5 mile Lady Bird Trail.  The trail offered views of both the bayou and the prairie.

There are also bison at the center.  It was hard to get a good photo of them, but the first one here is one bison from the side/rear and the second, another's massive head.

We spent the remainder of the afternoon and evening visiting with Wendy & Michael.  Rascal, another member of their three-pet household, saw fit to stay still longing enough for a photo.

My niece Jessica, grandniece Olivia and Cosme, Jessica's husband, joined us for a dinner of spicy potatoes and shrimp and grilled corn prepared by Michael, who gave us a packet of special boiling spices to take with us to California.

I'm still trying to shake a cold. But that won't interfere with today's trip to Fredericksburg, TX to visit with Erick's sister Nancy and other members of his family who live there. We'll set out after brunch at Villa Capri with Wendy & Michael.  The distance is shorter than we've typically been driving in a day; it's about a 4 hour trip.  The predicted high temperature for the day in Fredericksburg is 77 F and it's already 63 F here in Seabrook.
